Majid Al Futtaim brings happiness to 250 children in Egypt by celebrating National Orphan’s Day at its malls
In honour of National Orphan's Day, Majid Al Futtaim teamed up with El Balsam El Shafi and Sand Masr to host a day of fun-filled activities for little ones at Mall of Egypt, City Centre Almaza, City Centre Alexandria and City Centre Maadi.

Cairo, Egypt, 3 April 2022: Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, invited 250 children from El Balsam El Shafi and Sand Masr to experience Mall of Egypt, City Centre Almaza, City Centre Alexandria and City Centre Maadi in celebration of National Orphan's Day on April 1. With the aim of drawing a smile on their faces, Majid Al Futtaim hosted a range of action-packed activities in collaboration with retailers from the malls and employees, providing the children with engaging experiences and memorable moments.
For 16 years, Majid Al Futtaim has been committed to showcasing its support and raising awareness of National Orphan’s Day across its shopping malls in Egypt. This year, the malls celebrated the occasion with a tailored agenda by partnering with leisure, entertainment, and F&B retailers. Activities during the day included visits to Gravity Code, Magic Planet, Carrefour and VOX Cinemas, and giveaways were provided to the children by a selection of stores.
Commenting on the initiative, Hanny El Messiry, Managing Director of West Region Shopping Malls at Majid Al Futtaim — Properties, stated: “Celebrating National Orphan’s Day at Majid Al Futtaim is a tradition that we have proudly established since 2006. This year, we managed to host the occasion across all four of our properties, continuing to instil happiness within the orphanage communities in Egypt."
